When I was a little girl some of my favorite toys to play with were my dolls. I would feed them, bathe them and dress them in their cute outfits. I loved my dolls so much. Of course, during my childhood American Girl dolls weren’t out yet but oh how I wish they were! Lucky for my 7-year-old daughter, Amelia, she now has the chance to enjoy the fun of having an American Girl doll.
This past fall an American Girl retail location opened up in the South Park part of Charlotte, NC. The store not only carries all the dolls and accessories, but there is also a doll hair salon and an American Girl Bistro. My daughter wanted to try out the bistro so I made reservations and marked our calendars for our special day.
The American Girl Bistro is a pinkalicious, fabulous place where you & your daughter can enjoy a great meal and quality time together.
The bistro is located inside the American Girl store and it’s recommended that you make reservations in advance.
They serve 4 different menus – afternoon tea, lunch, brunch and dinner.
I made a dinner reservation back in December as part of my daughter’s Christmas present. She had been excitingly counting down the weeks for the big night to arrive and couldn’t wait to bring her newest friend, Grace Thomas – Girl of the Year 2015, with her.
The night finally arrived and my daughter dressed her and her favorite doll in their prettiest dresses. The night couldn’t be complete without having her real-life bestie and her mom join us also.
Once we arrived at the Bistro we were greeted by a friendly hostess who seated us and given adorable doll seats that attached to the table so that the girls could place their dolls in them.
The tables were displayed with pretty pink floral arrangements and pink everywhere! Napkins with pink floral ponytail holders and a mini cup and saucer for their dolls were complimentary to take home. At the center of the table was a small pink polka dot box with great questions for conversation starters. The girls loved this as much as we did and we all dove right into fun conversation and enjoyed lots of laughter.
AMERICAN GIRL BISTRO
With so many choices to tickle her taste buds, the Bistro is sure to become your girl’s favorite restaurant. Whether she chooses a sweet dessert, a delectable brunch, or a tasty lunch or dinner, the Bistro creates a casual-dining atmosphere that lets girls be girls. Dolls get special treatment, too. We have Treat Seats, cups, and saucers for them to use during your meal. And you can even borrow a doll if your girl forgot hers at home. Plus, we host celebrations—made complete with a cake—for any occasion!
Our wonderful server, Jewel, took such good care of us and it was always with a smile! The dinner menu was filled with every girls favorite dishes. We ordered the Soft Pretzel Bites and Fancy Fruit Fondue for appetizers – they were so yummy!
For dinner we enjoyed Macaroni with lots of Cheese, Bistro Burger Harvest, Chicken Salad and the Best Ever Chicken Tenders. The appetizers and entrees were generous portions.
And our meal just wouldn’t have been complete without the American Girl pink lemonade!
The food was very tasty and the girls loved their food as much as the moms did. We all made sure to save room for dessert and adored the Trio of mini ice cream cones.
The American Girl Bistro also offers Birthday Celebration, all-inclusive packages to celebrate your princess’ special day.
There is also a private room where your party can be held and you can add on to your package to customize your very own party. What I also love is that if any of your young guests forgets their doll at home they have dolls that can be borrowed.
Overall, it was an incredible experience, one we will soon not forget. My daughter smiled from ear to ear and was so ecstatic she just couldn’t help but to skip around the store! My heart just melted seeing her so happy.
We can’t wait to return to the American Girl Doll Bistro to make many more amazing memories!
