Every year the hottest Gospel and Christian Music Awards show is celebrated in Nashville, TN. But this year my home of Atlanta, GA was honored to be hosting the 42nd Annual GMA Dove Awards. Taking place at the Fabulous Fox Theater many people came to share in the experience, music and inspiration of all the talented artists that performed that evening. Not to mention being able to witness first-hand the AMAZING outfits that TV host and comedienne Sherri Shepherd was wearing. She was absolutely stunning and delightful as this year’s host. And what an incredible spirit and fun she brought to the show. They were lucky to have her! And though she kept the show going by keeping it lighthearted it was not forgotten on anyone in the audience what we were truly all there for, and as Sherri so nicely put it…”I love Jesus!”

For those of you that weren’t able to watch the live performance - with talents like Mary, Mary, Kirk Franklin, Kenny Rogers, Jason Crabb, MikesChair, Natalie Grant, LeCrae, Committed, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, Point of Grace, Group One Crew and many others - you can still catch it this Sunday night at 7pm ET (repeating at 9pm ET) on GMC, the home of Uplifting Entertainment. The Dove Awards represents a wide-array of musical styles ranging from Adult Contemporary, Bluegrass, Country, Gospel, Inspirational, Pop, Rap/Hip-Hop, Rock, Spanish Language, Urban and Worship categories.

Here’s to hoping that they decide to bring it back to Atlanta because I wouldn’t miss it for the world if they did. However, it did take a lot of patience to sit through the many hours as they put all the magic into the awards show for viewers to see on Sunday. But again, it was well worth staying up late and having the chance to worship with so many others. Don’t be fooled. We may be Christians but we know how to throw down when we hear music that speaks to us!
