The View

Sorry for the delayed posts. I have been having technical difficulties with my blog. Ugh. Anyhow, I think all is well or at least better for the time being. Here is Part I so, let’s talk about what happened on the Thursday, March 4^th episode of The View.

They welcomed guest co-host Valerie Bertinelli. I remember when she was just little Barbarba Cooper on One Day at a Time. I LOVED that show (don’t act like you didn’t want to hang out with Schneider!) Anyhow, I was rather surprised at how outspoken Valerie was – I guess I assumed she was quiet, just like her character on television – boy was I wrong. She had plenty to say during the Hot Topics portion of the show. When she found out about Mo’Nique’s “open relationship” with her husband. I think I saw Valerie’s head pop off! Lol. The lovely ladies at The View seemed to be trying to maintain a calm demeanor about the whole thing but Valerie was not having it. I just thought it was funny and I’m glad to see Valerie on The View. She’s a nice fit.

Then they introduced Abigail Breslin – the adorable little girl from Little Miss Sunshine. She came to talk about her portrayal of a young Helen Keller on Broadway in The Miracle Worker. I wish I was still living in New York to see this play. As a child I have always loved the story of Helen Keller – truly inspiring. And speaking of inspiring I have to mention the faux pas Barbara Walters made (yes, I’m going somewhere with this). Even though when she began speaking with Abigail she confused her with another young actress (which by the way I couldn’t figure out who she was referring to) Barbara quickly corrected herself and made a light joke about it. That’s what I think is truly inspiring about her – she always handles herself with poise and is so professional.

Also on the show was Mia Wasikowska, star of the popular movie Alice In Wonderland and the cast of Broadway’s FELA. Really, The View has to stop showing all these actors from Broadways shows or I’m going to have to move back to New York! Aside from the Broadway theme of this episode I still have to give huge “props” to “the Barbaras” who stole the show – Barbara Cooper (sorry Val, you’ll always be Barbie to me!) and the fabulous Barbara Walters. You ladies get the Mami 2 Mommy Rocked My Socks Off! moment of the day!
