My family and I had a wonderful time last night attending one of our favorite shows in Charlotte, NC - the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus Presents Dragons. We arrived early at the Time Warner Cable Arena to attend an up close and personal blogger event with some special circus performers. Not to long afterwards the pre-show event began for all ticket holders. If you have purchased tickets for the circus you can arrive one hour before showtime and bring your family down to the arena floor for some great circus fun. You can dance with the clowns, try on costumes, jump on the bouncy house (for a $5 fee), get tattoos and watch animals perform. Its a fun atmosphere that gets you pumped up before the circus begins.

This years theme was focused on Dragons - strength, courage & wisdom. Throughout the show a mysterious dragon would appear but it would be simply his eyes or tail, but ultimately the whole dragon would make his grand appearance. My children were thrilled to see some new acts as well as some oldies but goodies. The clowns did not disappoint and were funny with great energy. Children were dancing, laughing and having a great time throughout the arena. Glitzy costumes sparkled, talented animals did amazing tricks and jaw dropping acrobatics were seen by all. My children loved watching the dogs perform and were at the edge of their seats when 8 motorcross riders entered a steel globe and circled around and around in such a closed in space.

The show was about 2 ½ hours long with an intermission. It’s a great show for all ages. Be prepared to spend money on your children for sweet treats and souvenirs. They are hard to resist.If you haven’t had a chance to take your family to the circus, don’t pass up this opportunity to see a wonderful show. An arrive an hour beforehand and have fun at the pre-show event.
