Mami Angst: SAHM vs. WAHM
Lately I’ve been struggling with some things. Mainly the balance of being a SAHM (Stay-at-home mami) and a WAHM (Work-at-home mami). I have felt so torn between whether I should be the “perfect” mami and spend every last second with my son or get on my laptop to do some much needed work. But I look at my son - who is now a year old - and see how curious he is about everything and I want to explore with him! It breaks my heart to step away for a second. When he is running around like a lunatic walking I can’t take my eyes off of him. Initially, it was because I was afraid he was going to hurt himself but now it’s because I know this stage won’t last forever. I want to enjoy it. I mean isn’t that why I decided to start working from home after I was laid off?
So, what’s a mami to do? I love the work that I do but my son is mi corazon - my heart. And I have to admit I get very jealous when I see other moms doing it ALL! How the heck are they doing it? What’s their secret? What’s your secret? This mami would love to know! By the way, before you try to rip me a new one, please keep in mind that I am no way saying that if you are a WAHM you cannot provide the same attention to your children as a SAHM. I’m just trying to figure it all out and need some ayuda - help. Help a mami out!

Mama, did you figure it out…
and here is a secret, most of us WAHM don’t have it all together. My laundry sits for days, the cat litter needs to be cleaned more, my beds sometimes don’t get made…Probably the same as if I was working outside of my home.
When my daughter was a toddler, she went to a part-time program two or three days a week so I could work…and run all those errands and limpiar la casa.
You have to find your sweet spot, your own formula for success…but remember, we’re all trying to figure it out too.
