NC Dance Theatre Presents Sleeping Beauty – Family (4) Pack Ticket Giveaway
For the past two years my daughter has been taking ballet and tap. Having her learn the fundamentals of these two types of dance has been so much fun to watch. Her little face just lights up when she is learning new dance steps and when she is on stage performing her recitals. This past holiday season she had a daddy date night and attended the Nutcracker ballet. She absolutely loved it! She was so excited to have seen beautiful costumes and elegant ballerinas on stage. I will admit, I was a little sad that I hadn’t been the first to take my little girl to the ballet but I was thrilled for my husband who had experienced it with her for her first time.
I couldn’t wait to be able to take her again and make it a family affair. So you can imagine my excitement when I heard that the North Carolina Dance Theatre was performing “Sleeping Beauty” at the Knight Theatre in Charlotte, NC on March 8-11 & 16-18.
Not only does my daughter love ballet but she also loves princesses. This is going to be a great opportunity for my family and I to have a night at the ballet. And my daughter gets to enjoy the two things she loves the most – ballet and princesses.
Sleeping Beauty’s timeless tale of a beautiful princess, a dashing prince and the triumph of good over evil with a single kiss has delighted audiences for years. In March 2012 North Carolina Dance Theatre performs Sleeping Beauty for the first time.
NC Dance Theatre President and Artistic Director Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, who is known for creating spectacular classical ballets including Nutcracker, Cinderella and Peter Pan, is choreographing Dance Theatre’s production. “Sleeping Beauty is the essence of classical ballet, and I believe Charlotteans will enjoy the opulent sets and costumes of this spectacular performance,” said Bonnefoux.
The three act ballet includes a cast of over 80 dancers. Dancers Alessandra Ball and Anna Gerberich will rotate in the role of Princess Aurora, with dancers Addul Manzano and Pete Walker sharing the role of Prince Florimund. Bonnefoux has invited several former dancers, including Kati Hanlon Mayo, Ben Kubie and Lance Hardin, to take part in the Court Scene. Dance Theatre is using sets and costumes from Ballet West.

Would love to go - my DD loves dancing, princesses and adores watching things on stage……would love to introduce her to the NC Dance Theater
I’d love to go. It’s been way too long since I’ve been to the ballet. Beauty in the Beast is one of my faves
My girls would LOVE to see this, they have princess everything and I can’t get them to wear normal clothes when we go out so they dress as each princess.
My daughter just started Ballet and Tap maybe 9 months ago and her favorite thing is Princesses as well. This would be such a great opportunity for her to be able to go see this play. Tickets are so expensive, glad to see your giveaway!
I am glad I discovered you blog, I love it! We love the theatre. My youngest daughter would especially be thrilled. She is our ballerina/gymnast.
My girls see The Nutcracker as a tradition every year, but often ask if they can see more ballets. This would be a wonderful surprise for them.
Just like your DD, mine loves dancing and princesses. It would be such a wonderful, first Ballet experience for her to attend “Sleeping Beauty” …. a dream come true.
