Protect Your Vision with #TransitionsLens
This is part of a sponsored campaign with Latina Mom Bloggers and Transitions Optical. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

Not too long ago I decided to take a proactive stance on putting my own health as a priority. As busy moms, we are always taking care of our families first and we tend to neglect our own needs. I decided to change that and take a closer look at my own health. One area that I know I have neglected and kept putting on the back burner for some time was my vision. I have always had 20/20 vision and I have never had to wear glasses. What I discovered in my last eye exam, was that my slight blurred vision that I was experiencing was not going away. So after a long run of having great eyesight, I am now in need of glasses because my vision is not as sharp as it use to be. Needless to say, I was a bit miffed after hearing this news that the reality of glasses was to be part of my life now.
However, I was grateful that my slight blurred vision was not to due to more serious health issues and that wearing reading glasses wasn’t going to be so bad. I did not want to imagine if my vision was worse and “What if I lost my eyesight to a preventative illness? and How would that impact my family?” These are thoughts that no one ever has to think of but unfortunately for some it can be a reality. Not being able to see my children’s faces or simply the beauty of life is scary to even contemplate.
Transitions Lens has taken a role in educating and motivating the public in visiting their eye doctor regularly for early detection and treatment of diabetes. Check out HealthySightforLife.com sponsored by Transitions Optical. It’s a wonderful website that you can navigate easily and get great information.
The website gives you the option to experience what it would be like to have your vision affected by different diseases, vision disorders or environmental factors through a vision simulator.

Disease Simulator-seeing through the eyes of Diabetic Retinopathy.
It also gives you the option to determine what are your risk factors for your age and ethnicity and you can create your own glasses by using the eyeglass guide. The eyeglass guide is a step by step questionnaire that when completed it will give you recommendations of the type of glasses you should get for yourself based on the criteria that you input.
