I don’t know about all of you but it has taken this mami over a year to lose all the weight gained while pregnant. But I am happy to announce that I’m not only back to my pre-pregnancy weight but actually 5 pounds less than that - yay me! The only issue I’m facing now is that I’m flat in places I’d rather not be. This real woman needs her curves! So, I need to start toning up. And the perfect opportunity to kick-off the beginning of this transformation presented itself last week when I was invited to participate in World Fitness Day on May 1st at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

Not only will this give me the motivation to start things right but I get to be a part of an incredible day with some amazing fitness experts and entertainers - Richard Simmons, Billy Blanks, Denise Austin, Debbie Allen, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, The Pointer Sisters, and Ludacris. All brought together by the lovely Jane Fonda to benefit, not only a wonderful cause but a cause that I plan to be involved with, the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (G-CAPP), a nonprofit organization she founded in 1995.
So are you jealous yet? Well don’t be because you can participate too! Just go to the World Fitness Day website to register. And if you use The Atlanta Journal Constitution promo code “Fitness” you’ll get 50% off your ticket.
And as a special treat for 1 lucky person I will be “live Tweeting” throughout the event and will have a special gift for one of my followers - just be sure to follow my tweets @Mami2Mommy and hashtag #worldfit to join in on the fun!
If you are unable to make it or not in the Atlanta area you can still be a part of this inaugural event by watching it all go down on Ustream. You don’t want to miss it! It’s a perfect way for all of us to support each other in getting fit and healthy. Now is the time to get moving so you better work it mami!
What lifestyle changes have you made to better your health and well-being? Are you facing any obstacles? Would you like some support in taking those first steps? Feel free to share your experiences and maybe we can learn from each other.

With all my mamí love,
Jennifer
