Opening night for Disney on Ice presents Let’s Celebrate! kicked off last night at the Time Warner Cable Arena. The arena was filled with families with children of all ages. They were so excited to see their favorite characters return to the magical rink in Charlotte, NC. My daughter and nephew had been waiting excitedly all day to see the show. For the past 4 years we have attended this show and love it each year! When the time finally arrived to head out to uptown Charlotte, it was all smiles from ear to ear.

Disney On Ice presents Let’s Celebrate! was a fun filled skating show that featured over 50 Disney characters. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse skated along with the Disney princesses, Buzz Lightyear and Disney villians such as Cruella de Vil. The audience experienced a year’s worth of celebrations, a merry unbirthday party, a Halloween fright, a Hawaiian luau, a Valentine’s Day ball and we even got to celebrate Chinese New Year with the coolest dragon ever.

We enjoyed a fun evening of twinkling and sparkly costumes. There were magical leaps and jumps, shooting fireworks and a flaming luau. My daughter’s favorite part of the show was the Christmas wonderland and the finale. She loved seeing the snow falling, giving the arena the feel of the Christmas spirit. She especially loved it when all the characters were all together dancing and singing at the end for the grand finale. My nephew was so thrilled to see his favorite characters of Toy Story - Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jesse and friends. The crowd cheered when they all skated onto the ice. The performers did a great job in interacting with the audience and making everyone feel the Disney spirit.

The show was less than 2 hours long with a short intermission in between. I recommend that you bring a sweater with you because it does get chilly in the arena. There are still 8 shows available between today and October 6th, so don’t miss out and purchase your tickets for some great family fun!
