This year will be Shaunsito’s third Christmas. I am so excited because now that he is older he will definitely enjoy unwrapping his presents this year! But aside from the fanfare of the gift giving and unwrapping there is so much to be grateful for this year. I feel very fortunate because for Shaunsito this will be a wonderful holiday season. A season full of presents and family. A season of love and joy. But for others it is a season of much more…it is a season of milagros - miracles.

On December 7th I joined some incredible mami blogueras - bloggers in Los Angeles. Joining me were Catalina of Catalina in LA, Liz of Thoughts of a Mommy, and Marcela of Culture Mami for a beautiful day at the MacArthur Park Primary Center - a pre-school and kindergarten center with predominately Hispanic students. I knew this was the perfect way for Pampers to enter the holidays by not only reaching out and serving the Latino community through Pampers Latino but also by celebrating the start of the “Pequeño Milagro” - “Every Little Miracle” campaign.

Through this campaign Spanish-speaking Latina mamis would be provided with much needed support and resources necessary to assist them with the care of their little miracles. I am sure we can all remember those first few days with our newborns. The feeling of uncertainty and lack of confidence in our parenting skills. Can you imagine if you had no one to turn to? What if your child had special needs? What if their were language barriers? With so many mamis that had unanswered questions and needed guidance Pampers Latino answered the call. With the roll-out of the campaign that includes tips via your mobile device and real-time advice from expert madrinas/godmothers in a supportive online community, Pampers has taken their commitment to making a difference for every Latino parent and baby to another level.

And this campaign would not have had the same impact without an ambassador who represented the message best. So it was a pleasure to see that Pampers Latino chose the right “Honorary Madrina” for the job…Bárbara Bermudo de Primer Impacto . After giving birth about a month ago to her own little milagro, Camila Andrea, and looking FABulous (ahem, so jealous!), Bárbara joined us for the unveiling of what was to come in 2011 for the care of all of our beautiful little miracles. I also had the honor of interviewing her. Words cannot begin to describe just how charming and lovely (inside and out) she is. Did I mention that she has great taste in people she follows on Twitter too (wink, wink!). You can follow Bárbara here. I promise it is her tweeting because I saw her firsthand tweeting away. While you are out there tweeting your hearts out and visiting the Pampers Latino Facebook fan page I will be anticipating another wonderful Christmas with Shaunsito and feeling grateful that I was so blessed to have this amazing little miracle in my life. Oh, and I’ll also be asking Santa for another little milagro for next year! Wink, wink!
